Ella Keidar Greenberg and Iddo Elam of Mesarvot are two young Israeli "refuseniks", conscientious objectors who refused to serve in the Israeli military, and went to jail for that. Refusing to serve in an army historically involved in an illegal occupation, which is committing genocide, should be the most obvious choice. However, people in Israel who do not serve in the military are usually considered outcasts, or traitors when they refuse.
We met them a few months ago in Naples.
They explained how the refusal and the exemption from the military service work in Israel. Most importantly, they show us how a fascist society works from the inside, how the horrors caused by the Nazi-fascists during WWII are exploited to commit new atrocities. To stop this, they argue, pressure on our governments and companies is essential to stop the complicity in the genocide.The full video can be found on our YouTube and PeerTube channels
